XBOX360 - Rainbow 6 Vegas Complete

Well I finished the Story mode of Rainbow Six Vegas yesterday, only in the noobie Normal mode, the hardcore Realistic Mode might take me a while. This game is very addictive, which was especially surprising for me given I never really played First Person Shooters before.

I'd definitely recommend this game, if I'd have to give it a score, and INARR (I'm Not A Real Reviewer), I'd almost have to give it a 10.

Now my next task, to get playing on Xbox Live and kick some butt!!!

I got an XBOX360 last week. Man it was the best thing I've bought in a long time. I was going to wait for the XBOX Elite to come out here in Aus, but with no firm release date, I couldn't just wait indefinitely.

So I got the Gears of War pack, and some extra's like another controller and a Live subscription, but the best thing I got for it was Rainbow Six Vegas. I'm hooked on R6V already. I'm trying not to play it too much, as I've got a weeks holiday coming up soon and I don't want to finish it before then.

Gears of War is a little too intense for me, I played it online a couple of times and kept getting chopped in half with a chainsaw (probably by an eight year old kid too!), so I'll be getting rid of that one.

I've added my little gamer-tag on the front screen of this site, and if anyone wants to add me as a friend on Live my tag is krudlerAU. If anyone runs into me on R6V on Live, please go easy on me, I'm a noob.

New Futurama Season for 2008

David X Cohen and Matt Groening have got the team back together and are doing a new season of Futurama, to be released in 2008. How cool is that!!!

Movie: The Worlds Fastest Indian

Wow. I just watched The Worlds Fastest Indian, and it was one hell of a true story. Anthony Hopkins was great as New Zealander Burt Munro, who spent years building a 1920 Indian motorcycle - a bike which helped him set the land-speed world record at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967.

Highly recommend this movie. :-)

Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance Webisodes

Ok, I'm a big fan of the new Battlestar Galactica series. I was a little to young to remember the original series, but I'm hooked on the new one.

The 3rd season of Battlestar Galactica starts on October 6th 2007. During September and the first week of October SCIFI.com are releasing 10 webisodes as a prelude to the new season. New episodes are published twice a week on the web site.

Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

We went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last night. It was full of cool effects, great scenery, and lots of swash-buckling-sword-play. The story line was ok, but you needed to have seen the first Pirates movie to understand some of the jokes and side stories (like the two pirates who dressed up as ladies in the first movie, who just showed up in the second movie).

Jonny Debb was cool as always, he's great at those kooky roles (like Willy Wonka), but the rest of the acting seemed a little flat.

The ending was a bit disappointing, it built up and up and up and then.... "queue the second sequel". Looks like they'll be squeezing as much money out of this franchise as possible.

It was ok, but I don't think I'll be buying the DVD.

Movie: March of the Penguins

I watched March of the Penguins today, and was very impressed. :-) It was a very well put together documentary by French director Luc Jackquet. It was a very enlightening look at the life-cycle of the Emperor Penguins in Antarctica, and the annual march to the breeding-grounds. But it was also a very engaging story. The tag line read like a Hollywood movie... "In the harshest place on Earth, love finds a way", and the way it was put together made it feel like you were following a movie plot, with peaks of action, heartbreaking moments, cinematic scenes that made you go "wow", and cute bits that made you smile. Added to all this the narration by Morgan Freeman which just topped it all off.

Highly recommend this movie.

Twentieth Century Fox has confirmed that popular animated TV series The Simpsons is to be made into a film. The movie will be released in the United States in July 2007.

A 25-second trailer for the film has been shown to US audiences at screenings of Ice Age: The Meltdown, promising to introduce "the greatest hero in American history".

It then cut to Homer Simpson, wearing only his underwear, who admitted: "I forgot what I was supposed to say."
